One Hundred Tales is a story about being careful what you wish for. Ichirui Hanri is an ordinary accountant serving his master. Angiveligt skulle han have verdens største produktion målt i tegneseriesider bag sig, i alt 150 000 sider i karrieren. Han er mest kendt for sin japanske manga-tegneserie om robotdrengen Astro Boy. Efter en alvorlig ulykke dør drengen Tobio, og hans far, dr. Tenma, faderen til al moderne robotteknologi i sin tid, flytter sin søns hukommelse og minder ind i en robotkrop, Astro Boy, som forstiller en tro kopi af Tobio selv. Det er den mest avancerede robot i sin tid med ægte følelser, fremkaldt af et rigtigt hjerte opfundet af dr. Tenma. Astro Boy er en af de mange, og nok den mest tydelige, af inspirationer til Capcoms videospilsfigur Mega Man.
